On Tuesday night, #1 UConn claimed their fifth straight conference championship in a 70-54 defeat of the #19 USF Bulls.

After the first back-to-back wins in months, posted in the same week, USF had two players honored by the American Athletic Conference.

The American Athletic Conference has released the 2018 men’s basketball tournament schedule.

The USF Bulls end the 2017-18 regular season with a two game win streak after beating the SMU Mustangs, 64-54 in Tampa on Sunday. After starting the season 13-6, SMU went 2-9 in their last 11 games. The Bulls capped an eight game losing streak after beating Memphis on Wednesday.

The USF Bulls broke an eight game losing skid with a big 75-51 win over the Memphis Tigers on Wednesday. The Bulls took a 3-0 lead early when Payton Banks made a three-pointer less than a minute into the game and never relinquished their lead throughout the game.

The USF women’s basketball team cruised to 64-54 win over SMU despite a big drop-off in offensive efficiency from their last game.  In their 84-65 blowout win over #13 Ohio State, USF 30-65 for 46%.  Against the Mustangs, the Bulls shot just over 32%.

The USF men’s basketball team took another loss on Wednesday night.  This time, it was to in-state neighbor, UCF, by a score of 72-55.  The Bulls’ losing skid stands at six games.

The University of South Florida athletic department released their 2018 football schedule on Tuesday morning.  The schedule features non-conference matchups with Georgia Tech, Illinois, and UMass.

The USF Bulls extended their losing streak to five games after losing to the Temple Owls by a score of 73-55 on Saturday afternoon.  Strong performances by Temple’s Shizz Alson Jr. and Quinton Rose gave the Owls a comfortable win.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane men’s basketball team leave Tampa with a win over USF, 63-54.  Tulsa’s win came despite shooting just 29% from the field.

The USF men’s basketball team fell to Memphis Wednesday night, 86-74.  The Tigers led most of the game, holding off late charges by USF to secure a comfortable win.

The USF football program has announced several interesting changes to their future schedules.  One of the big criticisms for USF this past season was that their 10 win season proved little due to the quality of their opponents.  Taken a step further, nearby UCF was arguably denied a chance to play for the so-called playoff because of their strength of schedule.  It seems the administration at USF has taken this issue to heart as they have upgraded the quality of opponents substantially.

The West team took the win in the 93rd annual Shrine Game to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children, 17-13 on Saturday evening in front of a crowd of 21,703 at Tropicana Field.

The USF Bulls men’s basketball team extends their losing streak to seven games after blowing a lead late against the UCF Knights, 71-69.  The Bulls had led 29 minutes of the game, blowing a five point lead with less than seven minutes left in the game.
