Congratulations to McIntyre2K7 for winning the Pick 'em and Predict 'em Contest for Week 4!  His 14 point variance beat out BullEsh but just two points.  A round of applause to both of them, who were the only two to pick a win for USF.  Please put your predictionsf for the Thursday night Temple game on this posting to ensure they're included.

The #22 USF Bulls made easy work of the Fighting Illini of Illinois on Friday night with a final score of 47-23, spoiling the homecoming of Illinois head coach, Lovie Smith.  Smith formerly coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the same stadium.

USF Poll Watch Week 2 2017 All

The USF football Poll Watch is back on USF Blog for the 2017 season.  The 2016 series started in Week 4, a long time before the team actually got ranked in the two major polls in Week 14.  This year, the Bulls were ranked in the preseason Associated Press Poll for just the second time in the twenty year history of the program.

Congratulations to Week 2 Pick 'em and Predict 'em winner, McIntyre2K7!  It was a bad week for eveyrone, considering the outcome of the game, but he was closest with an 18 point variance.  BullEsh was second with 25 and third went to TheBombasticBull.

Two games into USF’s football season, they have earned two wins.  They will not be awarded style points, however, and they may have damaged their reputation for the entire season.

It was a miserable start for the hometown USF Bulls.  Dark gray overcast skies kept a steady rain fall at Raymond James Stadium, contributing to a very bad first half.

Welcome to the official unofficial gameday chat for the football game between the AAC's USF Bulls and the FCS' Stony Brook Seawolves.  Stay tuned for game updates and news as they happen.  As always, cheers and jeers are welcome here!

Who:                   Stony Brook Seawolves vs. #19 USF Bulls
What:                  Non-conference college football game
When:                 Saturday, September 2nd, 2017, 4:00 PM EDT
Where:                Raymond James Stadium
Why:                   It’s the second game of football season

The #19 University of South Florida Bulls will host the Seawolves of Stony Brook from the state of New York on Saturday evening at 4:00 PM, EDT.  This marks the second meeting between the FCS’ Seawolves and the Bulls.  The only other matchup between these teams was a 59-14 win by USF in 2010.

The first game is in the history books.  USF’s journey on a potentially historic season has begun.  They’re 1-0, ranked in the top 25, and have a Heisman candidate starting at quarterback.  Next task, fill those seats.

Looking Back

The #19 USF Bulls first football game got off to a rocky start, but had a rocking finish.  USF outscored the Spartans 42-6 after losing the first quarter, 16-0.

The Oracle talked to Deatrick Nichols and Quinton Flowers about their lifelong friendship and how they ended up together at USF.

The USF men’s soccer team got their first win in the Bob Butehorn era.  They beat Lipscomb, 3-0.

The women’s soccer team fell to 3-1 after losing to #4 North Carolina, 4-2.

Looking Forward

Next up on the football schedule for the Bulls is Stony Brook at Raymond James Stadium.  These kinds of games are most assuredly wins for the home team.  If you’re wondering why FCS teams make these kinds of trips, it’s about the money.  This one is a highly recommended read because they reach out to a former USF A.D. who cannot remember the Stony Brook deal because of his FSU, Notre Dame, and Maryland deals.  He actually says “golly”.  After that, the story indicates the Stony Brook A.D. and the USF A.D. had a “special relationship” at the time.  It looks like “special” wasn’t a mutual feeling.

Congratulations to TheBombasticBull for winning the Week 1 Pick 'em and Predict 'em Week 1 challenge!.  He picked the final USF score exactly and had a total point deviation of just five points.  Don Gee gets the second place prize for being within seven total points.

The #19 USF Bulls easily handled the San Jose Spartans by a score of 42-22 on Saturday night.  A slow start gave San Jose State an early 16-0 edge by the end of the first quarter of play, but the Bulls would go on to score 42 unanswered points to secure the win.

Welcome to the official unofficial gameday chat for the football game between the AAC's USF Bulls and the MWC's San Jose Spartans.  Stay tuned for game updates and news as they happen.  As always, cheers and jeers are welcome here!
