The University of South Florida athletic department released their 2018 football schedule on Tuesday morning.  The schedule features non-conference matchups with Georgia Tech, Illinois, and UMass.

The Bulls will open the season at home with Elon before hosting the Yellow Jackets in game two.  They'll visit Illinois in game three before beginning conference play with ECU at home in game four.  They will play on two Friday night games, on the road against Tulsa in game six and home against UCF in the season finale.

The Bulls, who have been ranked in the top 25 for two consecutive seasons, were widely citicized for their strength of schedule in 2017, will face only one team ranked in the final top 25 rankings.  UCF, who finished in the ten of most rankings, is the only team on the schedule projecting to be ranked at the beginning of the season, based on the "too-early" rankings by many major publications.  The biggest name to face USF in the regular season would be Georgia Tech, but they finished the season with a 5-6 record.  Illinois, the only other team from a so-called playoff conference on the USF schedule, finished 2017 with an 0-9 record.   The Bulls themselves are a bit of an unknown, with the departure of graduating senior quarterback star, Quinton Flowers.  The television schedule, which is likely to vary depending on how good USF is, has yet to be published.
