After the first back-to-back wins in months, posted in the same week, USF had two players honored by the American Athletic Conference.

Freshman guard, David Collins, was named American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week after averaging more than 12 points in wins against SMU and Memphis. His 21 points in the SMU game put the Bulls over the top for an easy nine point win.

Junior forward, Malik Martin, was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll for his average of 17 points per game in the final two games of the season. Martin’s late dunk against SMU with less than a minute to go seemed to seal the victory with emphasis for the Bulls.

Collins has also been named to the conference All-Rookie Team. He joins fellow guards, Nate Pierre-Louis of Temple and ECU’s Shawn Williams. Forwards Ethan Chargois of SMU and Fabian White from Houston also selected to the team. Williams selection was unanimous.
