Welcome to the final official unofficia{rokcomments}l gameday chat of the 2016 regular season, where the all-new "rivalry" trophy will be awarded to the game's winner.  Cheers and jeers are welcome here!

Who:                   UCF Knights vs. USF Bulls
What:                  American Athletic Conference football game
When:                 Saturday, November 26th, 2016
Where:                Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida
Why:                   Conference championship implications, potential regional rivalry

The University of South Florida Bulls welcome to Raymond James Stadium, the University of Central Florida Knights for the eighth historical matchup between these two teams, just 90 miles apart. The series has been dominated by USF for the four meetings prior to 2013, after which UCF won two in a row. The Bulls resumed their normal dominate position in the series with a 44-3 win in the last game, played at UCF. There has been a concerted attempt by both the administration and boosters of both schools to create a regional rivalry, with mixed results. The two teams have rarely met on common ground, when one or the other was not in some serious stage of rebuilding.

It’s Rivalry Week in the world of college football and the final week of play for many teams.
The Bulls have continued their winning ways, but three straight weeks of close games has not gotten them any love in the polls. The remain outside of the National Football Playoff top 25, but fellow AAC brethren, Houston, and a conference foe defeated by USF, Navy, have entered at 20th and 25th respectively. Ironically, USF beat Navy, who beat Houston, and USF is unranked while the other two are ranked in reverse of what logic would dictate.

Congratulations to danm1983 for winning this week's prediction contest!  This is the first win for him, which puts him in a six way tie for second place behind two win leaders, BullEsh and RaginBull76.  Six of you picked the correct winner, while three picked the Bulls to lose.

Please place your picks for the UCF game on this post to ensure they get picked up prior to game time.

The USF Bulls escape intact for the third straight game, with their opponent threatening to take the win late in the fourth quarter. The Bulls managed to hold on, with a final defensive stand on their own 14 yard line. SMU faced a 4th and one and opted to go for the conversion. They came up less than a yard short of the marker, turning the ball over on downs.

Welcome to your official unofficial gameday live chat as the USF Bulls visit the SMU Mustangs.  Cheers and jeers are welcome here!

Who:                    USF Bulls vs. SMU Mustangs
What:                  American Athletic Conference football game
When:                 Saturday, November 19, 2016
Where:               Gerald Ford Stadium, Dallas, TX
Why:                   Conference Championship implications

The University of South Florida Bulls head to Dallas to face the Mustangs of SMU for just the fourth matchup in the history of these programs. The Bulls have the edge in the series, 2-1, the last game being a 38-14 blowout of the Mustangs in Tampa.

USF has always been more football than futbol, but when a Bulls’ team makes it to postseason, its newsworthy enough to mention.  The men’s soccer team earned a spot in the NCAA tournament after losing the American Athletic Conference Championship to Tulsa on a 1-1 tie, 4-2 penalty kicks.  They faced the same problem in the match against Florida Gulf Coast University in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Four Elon Phoenix score in double digits to beat the USF Bulls, 74-61.  The first half deficits were too much for the Bulls to overcome, just tying the scoring in the second half at 35 apiece.  The Phoenix, who were picked to be the 8th best team in the Colonial Conference, never really seemed challenged by USF.

Twelve college football weeks have come and gone and there is no clear path to the football playoff for USF. Temple has to lose to one of two bad opponents or the Bulls have to find a way to get ranked high. The playoff poll is again omitted due to not including USF.

Please take a moment from your busy sports fan lives to congratulate Don Gee for winning the week 11 Pick 'em and Predict 'em contest!  Don predicted a score that deviate just one point from Memphis and four points from USF's final scores for a total variance of just five points.  That's an extremely close prediction consdering that the teams combined for 86 points.  Its the first win of the year for Don Gee, who is now in a five way tie for second place.  BullEsh and RaginBull76 continue to lead with 2 wins each.  Please post your predictions for the upcoming SMU game in response to this posting.

It was a knock-down, drag-out fight from the beginning to the end as the USF Bulls outlasted the Memphis Tigers, 49-42. The Bulls were led by another strong performance from quarterback, Quinton Flowers, who had 473 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns. USF started the game outscoring the Tigers 21-10, only for Memphis to go on a 24-7 scoring streak of their own. After that, it was a back and forth offensive affair with very little defense by either team. Each team punted the ball only three times during the entire game.

Welcome to your official unoffiical gameday chat where the USF Bulls are visiting the Memphis Tigers.  Cheers and jeers are welcome here!
