Three Bulls led with double digit scoring as they easily defeat the Delware Blue Hens of the Colonial Athletic Assocation.

The Bulls got the scoring started quickly, going on a 13-2 run to start the game. The Blue Hens would chip away at the USF lead, getting within six points with 13:15 remaining in the first half. USF would pull away, though, leading by as much as 17 before going into the halftime break with a 43-28 lead. The Bulls dominated in the paint in the first half, outscoring Delaware 18-4, with a 24-16 rebounding advantage. USF hit nearly 60% of their field goals, compared to just 27% for Delaware.

USF built on their first half momentum in the second half. The Bulls would lead the entire second half by double digits, building a lead to 29 points before finishing the game, 81-53. They would never trail the entire game.

Bulls’ guard, Geno Thorpe, and forward, Tulio Da Silva, came up with big scoring in the second game since the departure from the program of Jahmal McMurray. Each of them scored 18 in the win, leading the team in offense. The other player in double digit scoring for USF was forward, Bo Zeigler. The entire bench was able to log playing time in the dominant win, accounting for 33 points in the game. The Bulls dominated inside the paint, outscoring the Blue Hens, 32-14, and leading them in rebounds, 48-37.

Delaware had a pair of players score in double digits, with guards, Ryan Daly and Chivarsky Corbett, leading the team in scoring with 17 and 15 points, respectively. The Blue Hens drop to 6-6 with the loss, and look to rebound in their next game at home against Iona on 12-28.

The Bulls improve to 6-5 on the season with the win. They’ll take some time off for the holiday, returning to action on the 28th with a visit to ECU. That game will be televised on ESPNNews, nationally, with a 7 PM tipoff.
