Once upon a time, USF baseball fans complained about how USF should be great.  With all of the talent locally, they would say, there are no excuses.  Now, there are no excuses.  Just a challenge to keep on keeping on.

Looking Back

The USF baseball team earned their 19th straight win this season after beating 14-8 North Florida, 7-3. The Bulls visit another hot Florida squad tonight at Florida Gulf Coast. FGCU is ranked in the top 20 of all relevant baseball polls. The Bulls are ranked in the top 25 some and on the cusp of others. The Naples Herald has a nice piece on the rise of FGCU.

Pro Day at USF was not the Marlon Mack and Rodney Adams show, after all. Mack and Adams chose to let their teammates take the stage as they stood on the sidelines. Both opted to use their NFL combine scores for speed and strength rather than to risk doing worse, yesterday. They did perform in position drills, however.

CBS names USF as one of three schools with sleeper draft picks. You may be thinking they saw some of the other seniors at the Pro Day that they were not familiar with. But, no, they are actually calling Marlon Mack a sleeper.

Looking Forward

The softball team is headed to Gainesville, tonight. They will play their second game of the season against #2 Florida, who hold a 26-1 record, having outscored opponents 49-1 in their past six games.
