The world of American football has been settled for the year.  The Clemson Tigers reign over the college football world as the New England Patriots continue to do the same over the NFL, following their recent Super Bowl win over the Atlanta Falcons.  While it might seem like the long slumber of the offseason is just beginning, the time will fly by, faster than you think.  Spring practice for USF begins on March 6th, just about a month from now.  Something is always happening.  So, stay tuned.

Looking Back

The Florida Gators have hired USF defensive back coach and recruiting specialist, Corey Bell, for similar roles in Gainesville. The Gators were replacing a loss of their own.  Former Florida defensive backs coach, Torrian Gray, is headed to the Washington Redskins.

The Bulls are filling Bell’s spot with former West Virginia and Miami Dolphins coach, Blue Adams

Former USF men’s soccer player, Marcus Epps, has been selected as the 25th overall pick in the Major League Soccer Super Draft.  Epps started four years for the Bulls.

The men’s basketball team got “thumped” by Temple on Sunday, 83-74.  Their losing skid stands at 11 games, having not won a game since Murry Bartow took over for the fired Orlando Antigua.

Malik Fitts has been named AAC Rookie of the Week following his 29 point performance against Memphis

Indiana’s Tom Allen has hired former USF offensive line coach, Darren Hiller for the same position at Indiana.  Tom Allen also spent time with the Bulls as defensive coordinator.

Looking Forward

The USF Ice Bulls Hockey Club had been playing in Ellenton for many years.  As a club team, it does not get funding from the university.  The recent opening of the Florida Hospital Ice Center in Wesley Chapel will become the new home for the team.
