Today is the day that a national champion will be named. Those in or about the Bulls’ hometown of Tampa can watch that game in person, if they’re willing to fork over the $1,000 plus it costs to get into Raymond James Stadium. With all of the pageantry and celebration that can be witnessed from Curtis Hixon Park to the Convention Center to the stadium, it’s fun to think of what it would be like to have one’s own team in that game.

Looking Back

Three years of breaking records is enough for Marlon Mack. He has declared for the NFL draft and his days in green and gold are over.

Another USF football star player at his position who will be greatly missed next season, Rodney Adams, will make an appearance in the East-West Shrine Game. He’ll don a green and gold helmet for the last time on January 21st at 3 PM. The Shrine game is played at Tropicana Field, and has featured at least one USF player in each game going back to 2006.

Last week, the USF athletic department announced the termination of former head coach, Orlando Antigua, in favor of interim head coach and former assistant, Murry Bartow. While the reasons for that decision are clear, what isn’t clear is how much of those failures are Antigua’s fault.

Looking Forward

Charlie Strong has hired former Texas assistant, Brian Jean-Mary as USF assistant head coach and defensive coordinator, the first time in his 18 year career at that position. Jean-Mary spent the past three years coaching Longhorn linebackers and is a native of Apopka, Florida. This story by NBC has a nice retro picture of the Bulls.

The USF Basketball Show is back tonight. Fans can watch the show live at World of Beer on Fowler Avenue. Interim basketball head coach, Murry Bartow, will speak with voice of the Bulls, Jim Lighthall. The show begins at 7 PM.
