The USF women’s soccer team will advance to round two of the NCAA Tournament after easily defeating Florida Gulf Coast, 3-0 on Saturday.

The Bulls got on the board in the 18th minute of the match when Evelyne Viens put a pass from Sabrina Wagner into the low right corner of the goal.  In the 79th minute of the second period, Leah Ferlin scored a goal off the foot of Viens.  That score was setup by a corner kick taken by Andrea Hauksdottir, and put USF up 2-0.  The final goal of the game came in the 83rd minute by Aubrey Megrath.  Megrath was assisted by Viens on her way to sealing the 3-0 victory for USF.

The Bulls advance to the regional bout with the #19 / 16 Florida Gators.  The 13-3-2 Bulls will meet the 15-6-0 Gators for the first time this season.  They were originally scheduled to play on September 10th, but that game and one against Mississippi State were cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.

This is just the fourth time a USF women’s soccer team has played in the NCAA Tournament.  The round two matchup against Florida begins at 6 PM on Friday, November 17th
