The first game is in the history books.  USF’s journey on a potentially historic season has begun.  They’re 1-0, ranked in the top 25, and have a Heisman candidate starting at quarterback.  Next task, fill those seats.

Looking Back

The #19 USF Bulls first football game got off to a rocky start, but had a rocking finish.  USF outscored the Spartans 42-6 after losing the first quarter, 16-0.

The Oracle talked to Deatrick Nichols and Quinton Flowers about their lifelong friendship and how they ended up together at USF.

The USF men’s soccer team got their first win in the Bob Butehorn era.  They beat Lipscomb, 3-0.

The women’s soccer team fell to 3-1 after losing to #4 North Carolina, 4-2.

Looking Forward

Next up on the football schedule for the Bulls is Stony Brook at Raymond James Stadium.  These kinds of games are most assuredly wins for the home team.  If you’re wondering why FCS teams make these kinds of trips, it’s about the money.  This one is a highly recommended read because they reach out to a former USF A.D. who cannot remember the Stony Brook deal because of his FSU, Notre Dame, and Maryland deals.  He actually says “golly”.  After that, the story indicates the Stony Brook A.D. and the USF A.D. had a “special relationship” at the time.  It looks like “special” wasn’t a mutual feeling.
