Superstition has been a part of baseball since the game began. Never talk about a no-hitter or a perfect game while in progress. Good luck clothing and special routines that magically help prevent your team from losing. Add to that list, not talking about a team’s win streak one game shy of a record. Baseball superstition is strange and powerful magic.

Looking Back

The #20 USF baseball win streak ends at 19 after losing to #12 FGCU on Wednesday. It was the Bulls second longest win streak and the second longest win streak in the nation.

USF softball fell to #2 Florida on Wednesday, 8-0. After starting the season ranked in the top 25, they now hold a 20-15 record.

Looking Forward

The football team has offered a tight end from Georgia, one of the first recruits targeted in the Charlie Strong era. Ben Bresnahan is a 6-5, 225 pound junior from West Forsyth High School in Cumming, GA with offers from UCF, Colorado State, Minnesota, and Tulane, among others.

USF women’s tennis play their final two home games of the season against FIU and Temple, this weekend. The team is 8-7 on the season.

Brian Gregory, incoming USF men’s basketball head coach, spoke with Sports Talk Florida’s Erik Kuselias about what he intends to do with the program.
