****UPDATED****

The blog has been forced to update the commenting method for the site.  Livefyre, a product that members of this blog have been using for many years, is no longer available.  The company that produced it was purchased by Adobe, who has interests that do not involve supporting free blog commenting software.  Fortunately, a very similar product, Disqus, exists and is easy to transfer to.  That does mean you'll all need to create new user accounts by going to www.disqus.com and selecting the "get started" button.  The steps are all pretty easy from there.  You may need to validate your account via an email sent by Disqus before you can comment on the blog.  After you have a new Disqus account, logging into the blog comments is similar to before, except now you'll use an email address and password rather than just a user name.  Thank you all for your patience during this transition.

As many of you are already aware, the comment section of the blog has not been available for the past couple of days.  We are looking into this technical issue and will have it resolved as soon as possible.  Thank you for your patience during this brief outage, caused by events beyond our control.
