It’s March and the basketball madness is everywhere. Most conferences have already begun their respective season ending tournaments, to include the women of The American. The men, however, will begin play later this week, in Hartford, Connecticut.

Looking Back

The USF women’s team, a third seed in the conference tournament, has beaten Temple in the semifinal game, 63-58. They will play the UConn Huskies tonight at 7 PM. In their prior two matchups this season, UConn made a mockery of the game by playing their starters for almost all minutes and running up the score to ridiculous highs. The second loss to UConn was a factor that knocked USF out of the rankings. This marks the third straight year that USF’s women’s team has made it to the conference championship game.

The baseball team swept Toledo over the weekend. The team is now 9-1 on the season.

The men’s basketball team finished their season by losing to Temple, 72-60. The team had lots of turmoil this season, which began with an NCAA investigation of their academics that lead to the firing of both Antigua brothers. There has also been a loss of several key players, who transferred to other schools.

The softball team picked up a pair of wins on Saturday against Ball State and Towson. They lost on Sunday to Villanova.
