There are just three more weeks until spring practice.

Looking Back

The #22 USF women’s basketball team secured their 20th win of the season, beating Tulane 66-56 on Sunday. The Bulls are 20-4 (9-2) and will host UCF on Tuesday.

The Ice Bulls hockey team were defeated in the championship game of the Southern Collegiate Hockey Conference tournament on Sunday. The team to beat the Bulls was none other than the local Tampa Spartans.

USF men’s tennis took down #16 Mississippi State over the weekend, 4-2. The Bulls had an announced attendance of 300 to watch them win on campus.

The men’s basketball team did something different on Saturday. They came back from a deficit and then won a game. Beating ECU 64-57, they broke a 12 game losing streak. Guard, Geno Thorpe, led the team with 22 points and eight assists. The win is their first since conference play began, improving their record to 7-17 (1-12). Injuries and losses of key players have forced the Bulls to rely on mostly freshman players to lead the team.

Looking Forward

USF has released their 2017 football schedule. They’ll open their season on the road at San Jose State on August 26th, before returning home to host Stony Brook the following Saturday. They’ll begin conference play early, visiting UConn on September 9th before returning home to host former Buccanneers head coach, Lovie Smith, and the Illini of Illinois. That game will be the first of two primetime, national television feature games for the Bulls. The games are in subsequent weeks and each is on a Friday. The second of those games will be a road trip to Orlando to face UCF the day after Thanksgiving.
